  THAT the Housing Advisory Committee adopts the agenda for May 24, 2022 as circulated.

ADOPTION OF MINUTES

• RECOMMENDATION

  THAT the Housing Advisory Committee adopts the minutes of the May 11, 2022 meeting as circulated.

2021-2022 WORK PLAN UPDATE

The Chairperson to provide any updates and facilitate a roundtable discussion regarding the three (3) priority items highlighted in the Committee's 2021-2022 Work Plan document:

1. Review and provide feedback on the Draft Housing Needs Report;
2. Provide input on Draft Amendments to the City's Zoning Bylaw as they relate to housing; and
3. Evaluate strategies to address areas regarding housing needs, following the final approval of the Housing Needs Report.

CAC FUNDING AND SENIOR HOUSING PROJECTS

5.1

CAC FUNDING FOR SENIOR HOUSING PROJECTS

The Committee to discuss the possibility of utilizing Community Amenity Contribution (CAC) funding towards future senior housing projects.

5.2

PARTNERING WITH A NON-PROFIT AGENCY FOR SENIOR HOUSING PROJECTS

The Committee to discuss the possibility of partnering with a non-profit agency to assist with senior housing projects. 

At the May 9, 2022 Regular Council meeting, the following motion was made: 

Motion Number 2022-202: THAT Council direct the City’s Housing Advisory Committee to focus on partnering with non-profit organizations and utilizing the funding and grants as outlined at the Affordable Housing workshop, held April 2022, in furtherance of affordable seniors housing. CARRIED

HOUSING STRATEGY ACTION PLAN UPDATE

Staff to provide an update on any business arising from the Housing Strategy Action Plans discussion that took place at the May 11, 2022 Housing Advisory Committee meeting.

8.1

COMMITTEE ACTION TRACKING

Corporate Administration provides the action-tracking document to the Task Force for information. This spreadsheet will be updated after each meeting and provided to members for information.

2022 MEETING SCHEDULE

The following meeting schedule was approved by the Committee and is provided for information purposes:

• June 28, 2022;
• July 26, 2022; and
• September 27, 2022.

All meeting times are scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
