  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee adopts the agenda for the February 15, 2024 meeting as circulated.

  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee adopts the minutes of the January 11, 2024 meeting as circulated.

Chairperson or staff to provide an update regarding the status of action items and recommendations from previous minutes.

The Director of Planning and Development Services to attend to provide further information regarding vacant storefronts in the City.

Staff to bring forward options for the Committee to consider for ways the City could choose to support the sculptures competition going forward. 

The Manager of Cultural Development to provide an overview of the final design for the public art project at Johnston Road and Thrift Avenue.

The Manager of Cultural Development to present proposed street banner guidelines and criteria for the Committee's review and approval.

Members of the Johnston Road Phase 2 Project Placemaking working group to provide an overview of their findings regarding potential placemaking opportunities for inclusion within this project. Committee to provide feedback and determine which spaces and placemaking themes they wish to recommend as priorities.

Committee to discuss potential ideas for highlighting and celebrating the 2024 Christmas/festive season in the City's business district.  

Committee to review and discuss a proposed Three (3) to Five (5) Year Art Plan, as presented by the Manager of Cultural Development.

Staff to provide an update regarding relevant developments and/or events happening in the Recreation and Culture department.

The following meeting schedule was previously approved by the Committee and is provided for information purposes:

  • March 13, 2024;
  • April 10, 2024;
  • May 8, 2024;
  • June 12, 2024;
  • July 10, 2024;
  • September 11, 2024;
  • October 9, 2024; and,
  • November 13, 2024.

All meetings are scheduled to take place in Council Chambers at White Rock City Hall from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
