  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Economic Development Advisory Committee adopt the May 18, 2022 meeting as circulated.

  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Economic Development Advisory Committee adopt the April 20, 2022 minutes as circulated.

Staff to provide information on the original proposal of choosing LaConner as a Sister City, and as to whether or not a formal Sister City Agreement with LaConner is needed and what benefit there would be to having one.

The working group members (A. Smith, D. McLean P. Zheng, and R. Khanna) to provide any updates on the following:

  • Having tech companies in White Rock;
  • Underutilized City lands; and
  • Higher education institution satellite campuses.

The Committee to receive the attached information, containing the Marine Drive transit data between Stayte Road and Oxford Road, for discussion.  The Marine Drive transit data was provided by TransLink by way of Mayor Walker. At the February 24th Economic Development Advisory Committee meeting, it was noted that Mayor Walker would work with TransLink in reviewing the frequency and effectiveness of public transportation options in White Rock. This is an objective included in the 2021-2022 Economic Development Advisory Committee Work Plan.

Staff to provide a progress update on the 2021-2022 Economic Development Advisory Committee Work Plan.

Corporate Administration to provide the action and motion tracking document to the Committee for information. The attached document is updated after each meeting and provided to members for review.

The Committee previously approved the 2022 meeting schedule as presented:

  • June 15, 2022;
  • July 20, 2022;
  • September 21, 2022.

All meeting times are scheduled to take place on Wednesdays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
