FIRST NATIONS LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

 

We would like to recognize that we are standing/working/meeting on the
traditional unceded territory of the Semiahmoo First Nation, and also wish to
acknowledge the broader territory of the Coast Salish Peoples.

  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Corporation of the City of White Rock Council adopt the agenda for its special meeting scheduled for June 27, 2024 as circulated.

Mayor Knight, in accordance with Section 131 of the Community Charter, is requiring Council to reconsider and vote again on Bylaw 2506 that was initially considered for third reading as amended at the June 24, 2024 regular Council meeting.  


Bylaw 2506 - A bylaw to adopt the "City of White Rock Zoning Bylaw, 2024, No. 2506". Bylaw 2506 was the subject of a Corporate Report at the May 27, 2024 Regular Council meeting and is coming forward to address Bill 44 - Small Scale, Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH) regulations from the Province. In accordance with Bill 44 a public hearing for this matter is prohibited. Bylaw 2506 received first and second reading on June 10, 2024 and is on the agenda for consideration of third reading as amended and final reading at this time. 


Note the following amendments have been included in the bylaw as circulated:

  • After first and second reading, a typo was noted in Section 3.0 Interpretation and Definition Subsection 3.3.1. The definition states," and excludes SSMUH residential" but should state "and includes SSMUH residential ". An updated version of the Bylaw with the tracked change noted in yellow has been included for Council consideration
  • Amended pages 13, 32, and 34, noting not to exceed ninety (90) days (noted as tracked changes) and a new page 33 
  • RECOMMENDATION #1

    THAT Council give third reading, as amended and circulated, to "White Rock Zoning Bylaw, 2024, No. 2506".

  • RECOMMENDATION #2

    THAT Council give final reading to "White Rock Zoning Bylaw, 2024, No. 2506".
