  THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee adopts the agenda for the October 9, 2024 meeting as circulated.

ADOPTION OF MINUTES

• RECOMMENDATION

  THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee adopts the minutes of the September 11, 2024 meeting as circulated.

4.

MONACO PUBLIC ART PROJECT UPDATE

Representatives from Solterra Development to attend to provide an update on the status of the public art installation to be included in the Monaco development project. 

5.

WALKWAYS SIGNAGE UPDATE

The Manager of Communications and Government Relations, along with the Senior Communications Coordinator, to attend to provide an updated concept design for the walkways signs, for the Committee's review and feedback.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM ACTION AND MOTION TRACKING DOCUMENT

Chairperson and/or staff to provide an update regarding the status of action items and recommendations from previous minutes. 

Note: Action and motion tracking document attached for information purposes.

7.

JOHNSTON ROAD PHASE TWO PROJECT - STENCIL PLACEMENT FEEDBACK

Staff to provide an update on the proposed placement for seashell and starfish stencil designs to be stamped in pavement, as part of the Johnston Road Phase Two (2) Construction Project, for the Committee's review and feedback.

PLACEMAKING OPPORTUNITIES ON CITY UTILITY BOXES

Staff to provide an update regarding processes that other municipalities use for installing decorative wraps on utility boxes. Committee to discuss this idea further, including which of the City's utility boxes should be prioritized to start.

DRAFT FIVE YEAR ART PLAN REVIEW

Staff to provide a brief overview of any new updates to the City's draft Five (5) Year Art Plan, for the Committee's review and feedback.

WORKING GROUP UPDATES

Members of the following working groups to provide updates on their findings, if available:

Maccaud Park Placemaking Pilot Project Working Group

10.2

Vacant Storefront Placemaking Research Working Group

10.3

Festive Season in the Business District Working Group

10.4

Community Notice Board Working Group

No new updates planned at this time. Working group members plan to bring forward an update at the next scheduled meeting.

Vidal Street Sidewalk Replacement Project Working Group

STAFF REPORT

Staff to provide an update regarding relevant developments and/or events happening in the Recreation and Culture department.
