  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee adopt the agenda for the June 12, 2024 meeting, amended to re-order agenda items so that Item 5, Five Corners Improvement Project Update, is discussed prior to Item 4, P’Quals Installation Project.

  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee adopts the minutes of the May 8, 2024 meeting as circulated.

Staff to provide an introduction to this project and receive feedback from the Committee.

The Manager of Engineering to attend to provide an update on the Five (5) Corners Improvement Project, and to participate in discussion and receive feedback from the Committee.

Staff to present the Art Selection Panel's concept design choice for the Johnston Road Crosswalk project, detailed in the attached corporate report dated June 12, 2024, titled "Johnston Road Crosswalk - Public Art," for the Committee's endorsement.

  • RECOMMENDATION

    THAT the Public Art and Culture Advisory Committee:

    1. Endorse the concept design for Public Art in the Johnston Road Crosswalk, as selected by the Art Selection Panel; and
    2. Recommend that Council direct staff to award the contract to Amy Bao, as the selected artist for the Public Art in the Johnston Road Crosswalk.

Committee to discuss opportunities for White Rock to celebrate and highlight the FIFA World Cup when it comes to Canada in 2026.

Staff to provide a brief overview of any new updates to the City's draft Five (5) Year Art Plan, for the Committee's review and feedback.

Staff to provide an update regarding relevant developments and/or events happening in the Recreation and Culture department.

Chairperson and/or staff to provide an update regarding the status of action items and recommendations from previous meetings.

  • July 10, 2024;
  • September 11, 2024;
  • October 9, 2024; and,
  • November 13, 2024.

All meetings are scheduled to take place in Council Chambers at White Rock City Hall from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
